There is a code on the top connector
and also on the bottom plastic cover (addon socket)
and should be one of these:

Auto:
4TBC
4TBD

Manual
4TAB
4TAC
4TAD

etc.

if its 4TEG (e in the middle) its a tickford gas and worth about 4c's

I was going to post a new thread, but might be able to get my answer here....

if i was to get an xr6 diff (3.45) and the xr6 computer, would it make a noticeable difference?? Or would the computer not really do that much considering its not the xr6 motor...

Its for an EL futura.

Cheers
Matt

lets just say the ECU is optimum for the gear changes.
it will change gear at higher revs and may even do it faster.

Many many ppl use the XR ecu in stock motors as its more tame with wilder cams

also you'll need to change the speedo gear in the gearbox itself.
it won't make a difference to shifts but it'll make a difference to Mr. plod
actually, if you don't change it and you sit on 60... you'll most likey be doing 55ish.

hope this helps

wrong....if u have a 4.35 diff get the ecu cause it has the right shift points for the auto...ifu l eave the other one in there, and u rev the engine out it will hang b4 it changes gear, i got a an xr ecu and now as soon as i git about 5000 its changes

That certainly is an ED EEC4 Computer, you've been conned my main man!

EDIT: f you own an ED XR6, then you haven't been conned, actually.

Nah, thats an ED XR ECU.
93DT. More then likely genuine, does it have "ED XR AUTO" written on it anywhere in texta

EFs get 94 part numbers.
Krytox assumed you had an EF.

When you say wont rev past 4000 in 3rd, what do you mean?
It shifts then at WOT, or the car literally wont rev over it when it's held in 3rd?
Doesn't sound like an ECU problem.
