XR6 gas system stuffing up!!!!

Sounds like its to lean.When cold the ECU increases fuel flow so car runs rich.once warm the ECU adjusts fuel mixtures again. Adjust the gas mixture if you can't go and get it tuned.

Cool thanks dude, ummm btw how do you adjust the mixtures? If its a simple task then i may be able to do it myself but if it reqires a proper specialist then i will go and take it to one. :wink:

Without having seen it,hopefully you have a valve somewhere on the hose that runs from the converter to the throttle body. It works like a tap,anticlockwise to open for richness,clockwise to close for leaness.Try adjusting 1/4 turn at a time till your happy.

Most gas systems run a hose from the intake to the converter. If so check that it hasnt got a hole or split in as this will cause problems like what you are having. :)

Is it the little thing your talking about kind of look like the one in my gallery i have an engine bay shot and it does picture the hose connecting the tb to the converter im assuming this is the one your talking about.

Alrite no worries i will have a go and see what happens..

the hose I am talking about runs from the air filter box to the converter most systems run them. it is usually routed near the radiator and is approx 40mm in diamter (mine is anyway). it provides air for the convertor to work.

Yep i know the one your talking about. I currently have it sitting in the bottom half of the snorkle atm. Wasnt in the airbox originally it was on the side of the snorkle, yeah i will check that out too, but im just certain that there is no leaks etc as i could not find any. :roll:
