hi i just brought a 2002 ford courier turbo deisel and it wont rev past 1000rpm but if i constantly pump the priming pump (hand pump on the filter) it will rev like normal anyone have any ideas

Also dont know if this is the right section thanks in advanced :)

Big air leak in the fuel system or the lift pump is stuffed.

Fuel pump on those have a rotary pump inside the injection pump. Pump off and reco.
