So we have a 04 feista and the wife has to go to dubbo (from bathurst) for a funeral tomorrow and her car has red coolant and its below min can I put normal water in it to for piece of mind?

usually i wouldn't... in an ideal world i'd drain the system and do a complete refill with so its all the same coolant.

Top up with distilled water should be fine as long as it isn't heaps of water.

Ok cool, nah its not a crazy about maybe a litre or so needed, told her to get deironised water to top it up with and we will get it flushed in the coming days with a product we can keep using

it will be fine, red coolant is still water based..
just dont mix green coolant with red because it will turn to sludge..

Yes, i've been told stories,, back when it was first coming out in new cars, new Mazdas and Magnas coming back on tow trucks with jelly like substance all in the cooling systems
