Hi All,
I know this is not a ford thing but thought someone on here may know what is going on Had to replace a timing belt and head on my pajero, The guy next door removed the fuel pump along with other parts. now cant get it to start. Also i have ordered a rebuild kit for the turbo as it is too tight for my liking. looking at the exhaust side of the turbo it seems there is a lot of carbon build up arround where the turbo blades on the exhaust side are and it prevents the turbo from turning (i think it has been stuck for some time.) what is the best way to remove it? When i try to start the pajero it sounds like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-h-RRMWMs0 Also the glow plugs do not operate automatically anymore so i have set up a switch inside the car to allow me to manually turn them on for about 5 to 10 seconds. Barry

Have you tried bleeding the air out of the fuel system?

is that done by loosening the injectors off and turning it over?

I don't know much about the Pajero, but there is supposed to be a pump on the filter housing.

there is a pump on the filter housing, i pumped it a number of times before starting,
the injector pump has been removed by the guy next door so it is possible the timing is now out there does seem to be an ajustment on it by loosening it off and turning it a little. Another thing i have ordered is a compression tester i was thinking of running a compression test on it too.

Hi
Yeah turns out the turbo was a major problem as I pulled it apart and it was bad. the engine starts now, it is hard when it is cold but it will eventually start if you push the accelerator. It will run at over 1000 rpm however if it drops below it the engine snuffs. the engine seems to run a little better now too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-8DOol ... e=youtu.be

What model Pajero ???....is it the 4D56T engine ???
Have you adjusted the tappets ??? Have you have the pump timing done ???...it is critical for good operation, power and economy. Is the Balance shaft belt been timed properly ???
