hey i have an AWD mazda familia gt-r and a FWD ford laser around the same yr, im wondering if anyone knows if its possible to put the engine from the familia into the laser, i dont know much about cars but if its possible i will research it more, thankyou

apparently they are the same basic design but the lasers engine is the same as a mazda gtx, and the gtrs is more powerful

Most transplants are possible. Just depends on how much you really want to do it. Look at engine mounts, starter motor location, exhaust set up, where all engine components are located and plugs used for wiring connections. Check where all the bolt locations are that hold gearbox to engine.

That's just some of the main things you should check while both cars still have engines in them.

Well that is providing you have not started to do it already. There are some good crews over in WA that could do it all for you. Just need to find the right one that is close to you.
