my missus's sister wants me to do a service on her festiva, it possibly hasnt had one in ages, but apparantly runs fine so im just gonna do the oil + filter and check the plugs and airfilter and such - is there anything like a timing belt that should be done around now?

well the timing belt i believe cos mines next is 200k which my mechanic mentioned the timing belt so i think these are 100k timing belts

I was under the impression timing belt was 100k also.

Yeah AFAIK, the timing belts are 100,000km.
Better to do it anyway. |

You might as well do the timing belt now. It's only 1000km off and the next service would be after 100,000km.
Best to be on the side of caution, a broken timing belt is not fun
