Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if they are interchangeable. I have an 89 which needs one and all I can find cheaply are KH wrecks.

Thanks!

I'm guessing they are. But be aware there may be 2 different types. I know there are for the KC's (mines an '87 so I doubt they would have changed much), one is the Australian production (which has a round fluid reservoir) and the other is the Japanese production (with a square reservoir).
I had issues with mine a while back and was quoted a small fortune for a new master cyl, But what most places won't tell you is there are rebuild kits available for these ( I got one from A.B.R. for $140 v the $450+ for a new cyl ) put it in and I have had no issues since.
I would advise against using a cyl off a wreak as it's usually just the rubber seals that fail and those off a wreak could well be on the way out anyway.
Best bet ( I.M.O. ) get hold of a brake specialist in your area, get a rebuild kit and fit it, easy enough if you have a workshop manual. If you don't, public libraries often do as well as a photocopier.
It would also pay to replace the slave (or wheel cylinders) at the same time, the increase in fluid pressure blew both my rear ones within weeks of rebuilding the master cyl. Normally less than $10 each.
