G'day All,
I recently bought castlegreyskulls old TX5, and in the 3 days I have had the car, i've already spent a bit of time after work cleaning her up and getting it ready for the dreaded blue slip inspection. I know that there are a couple of other TX5 owners, who are fordmods members, so please feel free to offer suggestions on enhancing the old girl.
For those who already know me you will know the story behind this car. Basically, I was looking for a cheap car for the missus for work as she works at the local shopping centre, and has been driving the lane as a daily driver. After one trolley ding too many, I started the search and found our local Cruise Moderator was looking to offload the Telstar for the right price  Now the plan was to just tidy the car up for rego and leave it at that. But Kellie just laughed at me  Every car I have owned has been modified in one way or another and the Telstar will be no exception, it has already started :? Now I have 2 cars to play with :) The deal is that kellie will be funding any mods on her wish list and i'll be doing the work. I started it off for her by fitting a couple of T10 Blue LED's to the front parkers that I had left over from the Lane's dash conversion.
Here's a couple of quick pics of the TX5 as she sits now. Hope it doesn't take up to much of my time, I still want to play with the Lane and it's mod list is pretty extensive too :D

Yeah, I realise that, but thanks for the heads up. It took me a whole 30 seconds to change each bulb  I'll put the normal ones in for the inspection, and change them back afterwards :D The lane has blue eyes :P so the TX5 has to as well.

There's a guy on ebay parting out his Turbo tx5 and he's from North Richmond. Isn't that near Windsor. I was thinking of getting a few parts off him, you don't happen to know the guy do ya? Bit worried about the condition of the parts I want. Not sure what i'm asking here :? I guess i'll just have to take the chance as I normally would. Dribble Dribble Dribble.

Nah! I'll risk it. I've been running around in the lane with blue eye's since I bought it and have driven past plenty of cops. They always give me a second look, but havn't hassled me yet. See how it goes hey!

depends what you want to do with it i had one a burgundy one back in 2000ish i spent about $16000 on it so depends what you or your girl want to do

i would start by putting on a ram pod they bolt straight on with adapter and sit nicely where the air box is, also put a sports back end muffler dont need to change the front just the back section on these you will get an excellent note.

then lowering if you want remember that they sit weird if you lower it exact measurement like i would go 2.5inch front and 2 inch rear should sit even

and find a set of wheels they are the same stud patern and offset as the later falcons eg au ba bf

other than that see how you go and how far you want to go

Cheers ferr007,
Yeah! As it is the missus car, I will be letting her decide what get's done. I won't be encouraging her too much :P I'll get it registered first and then we'll go from there. Thanks for the info on the wheels though. I was wondering what wheels would fit it. That will give me a few more options. I won't be spending that much on it  The Lane will be lucky to see those $$ on it. I'll just be tarting it up a bit ( as directed by kellie of course  ) . So far she's just asked for mags and a sports steering wheel. Let's hope it stays that way for a while.
