Hey guys im doing up a cortina ive had for a few years, i have only just started on it a few weeks ago.

Heres some things its got or what im doing or done to it.

B6t Engine with MX5 5speed gearbox.
Datsun 180b Independant rear end.

Has modified rear wheel archers that have been flared out abit.

Also has rack and pinion steering but not sure what from.

Next things i want to do is:

Full rebuild of engine
Big cams
Eagle rods and wiseco pistons
and a TD05 Turbo.

Hoping it will have around 300rwhp on 20psi.

If you can chuck up some picks of the rack and pinion front end i might be able to ID it for you! also has the 180 rear end been put in already? id like to see some picks of that too - ive got a MKII cortina zetec build on here somewhere too. its good to see more people taking up the MKI/MKII cortinas

Hey im in the middle of doing the 180b rear end, its quite simple really.

And ill try get some more pics of the rack when i get the engine out next.

I used to have a Mk1 cortina about 5-6 years ago which was my first car.
It had the 2L Pinto and 4spd which eventually blew up, then it got a Rover 3.5L V8 and auto which also decided to die so i sold it.

Heres a few pics of my old 1.

Hi Everybody back here for a bit of an update.

Well not much has happened since the last post but i have bought a new turbo for the engine and also started to make my own manifold. All tacked together just waiting for a Tig to come up the right price on ebay.

Turbo is a GT30 Ebay spec :P a bit big for a 1.6 but will do.
Manifold is made of of 3.6mm steam pipe.
Here are some pics.Image

looking good there, i realised i didnt have the patience for making my own headers so i picked up a set to suit zetec RWD off ebay, ive even given up on a lot of the handmade stuff i did for my conversion (mounts, sump, water rail) as they were of questionable quality and reliability. I will just buy it all from retroford, I just want the damn car on the road already and once its there i dont feel like fixing my mistakes every other weekend.

Got anywhere on the 180b rear end yet?

Hi nah not really its been sitting there for a while now lost interest again but bought the new turbo and wanted to get that on so thats all i have really done to it in the last few months.

In the next few weeks ill attack the rear end i just dont have much time to be doing it lately.

I was gonna get turbo manifold off ebay for like $100 but for some reason wanted to make my own
All up that manfold owes me like $130.

Yeah its always good to have something made and works perfectly fine and does what it is supposed to do.
Hopefully my mounts are fine :)
