Stopwatch method introduces two variables.

Your reflexes as you (or your passenger) hit the button on the watch and the variation in your speedo.

Generally speaking, not all speedos are accurate. Indeed all the EB's that I have owned have read fast on the speedo within 5-8%. Ie saying 100 when actually doing between 92 and 95 (or there abouts).

I would say your times seem very fast (except for the futura) and I would say are grossly inaccurate (especially the EB V8).

I used to own an EFII XR6 manual with the same mods as your ghia and it never broke into the 6's. And everyone knows the manuals (in standard, or similarly modded form) are the quicker of the breed.

Buy a GTECH!

That's about what my EL did before mods (G-tech timed)

how much is one of these GTECHS worth? had a look on ebay, and at the moment they range from $220 TO $300.

i wouldnt mind testing the lane, but if it is going to cost over $250, they can jam it.

If all you've got is extractors and a zorst and you're pullin 6.6 on a g-tech, then either the G-tech is generous or you have one VERY fit EL :)

I have a JMM DEV3HL kit, with extractors, s/s exhaust and a hi flo cat and the best "hand time" time I have got is about a 6.5....

I pulled a 7.4 seconds to 100, with just cam, extractors, auto, and a 6.6 adding the manual and zorst, it is reasonably fast, but hey i cant proov it. Hornet will c it in action at the mildura drags.

The EB V8 is very accurate.

The car has 3.9diff gears, stage 3 cam, headwork, extractors, exhaust, microtech etc etc.

Its only a stopwatch time but I time it from 0-120km/h and its 5.7 secs. (the diff gears throw it off about 18km/h.

I quite like my EL though, a ghia that does under 7 secs 0-100km/h is pretty good, slap a few v8s across the mouth

I'm finding these figures a little hard to believe.
A i6 Fairmont pulling less than 7 secs, is pretty well s**t.
The XR8's with 185kw or more don't do that., and a i6 Fairy sure as hell aint anywhere near that, unless of course its had a bit of work done.
Those EB times are extremely good too. If its manual and has 3.9's i'll call s**t again, cause you'll struggle to get 100km/h out of it in 2nd gear. Thus it'll never do those times, shifting to third.

But i don't know your car so its hard to totally judge, but i think i'm tending to the G-Tech being rather generous.

As i have stated before, mine does 0-100kph in 4.2 seconds on the Bottle, But remember, this is with 3.9 gears, a shift kitted and stalled auto, 216rwkw and 597nm at the rear wheels on street slicks. There is a lot more in it as it has stock heads/cam and extra weight with the recent upgrade to the sound system

That's f**k quick brett. Mine gets there in around 5.5... 0-100 prob my car's stongest area as the stock heads/manifold choke at high RPM....

Yep. Agreed.

Perhaps the times aren't so much s**t, how about a little "generous"...

That way your not upsetting anyone by saying that they are a "liar". Your just implying that, perhaps, they stopped the watch a little before the speedo hit 100.....:)
