Hey guys,

I'm a little confused... i put my Falcon on the Dyno... All well and good... With a light tune i was pulling 223rwhp... WTF?

My mates VS ute pulled 167rwhp...

I haven't really done all that much to her...

Port and Polish (Throttle Body is @ 75mm instead of 62mm)
Pacemaker Extractors and 2.5" Lukey Stainless Exhaust
ECU Upgraded (Speedlimiter and Revlimited Removed)
K & N Pod Filter
and used my mates Flash Tuner for a light tune nothing overly extensive on the tune...

So i'm not quite sure why i got a 223rwhp on the dyno... Ambient Temp was 23deg...

Can someone explain to a n00b why he got a number like this?

I did have the cover off the Airbox and a Pod Filter Installed...

Im unsure but when my mate and i took his car to ford because we just wanted them to hook it up to the computer (we said its running rich). They updated the ECU for free and we were getting a s**t load ore power out of it and it was using less fuel.

Remember with the BA's it has the Twin Cam so all you do to get more power out of it is vary a few veriables in the ECU and BOOOOM more power.

I remembered when they did this when Holden said the *NEW* commodore was going to have 192Kw. Ford said ok and changed a few values in the ECU and they were putting out the same. Holden had to work a 40 year old heap of s**t motor.

stock they put out around the 140rwkw give or take. so with zorst and tune its not so unrealistic. remember dyno's are a tuning tool only and not real accurate as far as power goes but they will still be within cooee of the real figure providing it is all calibrated.

eb v8: low loud and fast. just how a v8 should be. i guess the big question is, is it fast enough...

166rwkws is quiet attainable for the ba i6 n/a.. have seen a na i6 ba do 163rwkw in person... twin cams do help very much boost the power of i6 ... wish there was a conversion to the e-series i6 :? there is, i think its called the kroghdarl twin cam head but is soooo expensive :cry:

would it be possible to use a BA head, camshaft's and rocker gear on an e-series with maybe modified timing gear and new ECU?

just to let you know mate.. thats 223hp is 166rwkw and they say that the ba xr6t has around 190rwkw so for one.. what car have you got? and 2 166 rwkw on a ba xr6t or xr8 isnt alot.. cheers guys

(quote) havent done all that much realy.. -i would say your underestimating the work you have done there sunny jim...pretty good for bolt ons though.. we e-series havent much a chance on a dyno comp with the barra i6s.. :( mayby there should be a new cattergory for the i6s.. so you have an e-series title" and a twin cam i6 title" :wink:

it all counts for nothing when they hit the track though as they are lumps of lard. 160 on a ba v's 160 on an e series is a big win to the e series on the road. rolling start would be a bit better.

If anything that sounds much too low. The BA motor is capable of spitting out lots of power, even naturally aspirated.. to be honest, I would be expecting fairly close to 200rwkw from the setup you have, although I don't know exactly what you mean by a light tune.

thats why one of the 1st things i want to get when mine runs out of warranty is a hi stall, cya later bommodores! lol

thats a good choice of mods josh, get a hi stall tho, not going to help the dyno figure tho. i didnt realise u had that much done to it.
