hey everyone, my dad owns an 06 bf xr6 non turbo, and sometimes upon start up, it clunks out and stalls, feels as though engine seizes and cuts off. All the lights on the cluster come on when it stalls also, it doesnt lose water or oil, car doesnt misfire and has no loss of power once running, the gearbox is a bit slow changing gears, and a recent gearbox service found lots of metal flakes on the pan magnets, anyone have any info on why it would stall?? it happens about 1 in ever 10 - 15 starts.

First thing is it need to plugged into a proper scan tool. NOT a s**t $100 internet special.
record any codes and do a capture of live data in graph form of the problem occurring.


Any answers anyone gives is going to pure guesswork.
