The gearbox in my maverick doesnt go into 3rd gear without grinding. It doesnt affect how fast it changes though. It would run 10's easy if the box was alright

14.00 does not equal 13.99 no matter how you look at it.

Its not a 13 second car until it runs a 13 and produces a timeslip to match.

Maybe when your older you will understand.
upcoming computer mods/a hi stall converter and a C4 conversion ripping out the t5 says she will be one quick mofo and will smash the 14 second barrier your stressing about dan...

Ah geez, i've been contemplating which pathway i'd like to pursue with the valiants. Got me some turbo bits lying around, two motors........ I'm thinking of using a blown 2L sigma motor (they are 900kg cars....925 to be exact, will haul fine) argh, so many choices!

My mate just finished off his corolla, got some stiff competition to be catching him :(

crow cams in my opinion are too expensive for the power they produce. take a look at JPD cams, they are cheap and do good power figures, another worthy one is WADE cams. 120-140 i think for an exchange cam.

Striker from these forums ran a 14.9 in a 3.9 EB with a ticky head, WADE cam, extractors exhaust and BBM, thats with a clogged fuel filter and stuffed wheel bearings (takes 4 people to push the car) and an undialed in cam, running 3.9 pintara diff gears.

so all it takes is about 2 grand to get your stock falcon into the 14's. however getting it down another second is where it costs you big time

It will hit the track not long after i get the Blue car back. Reason i say that is that i am using the Green car for daily duties, until mine is finished.
Cheers

90%sure sure the EB ran a 13.8 off the gas, on it, it ran a 13.1 or close to. And its running an Hawk C66 or what ever its called. also a 5speed with 3.9 gears, hence the 10.5 inch wide MT's there running.

The total cost to get your car running into the 13's is 10-12 grand, as stated by Mock themselves.

Go onto FFAU, ask OED666 how much it costs to run a 13.8, not much, he has revelaed his cam specs on FFAU, has a 4.11LSD, T5 and a chip, ran a 13.88 in FULL STREET TRIM with 2yr old 17" tyres, a 13 isnt hard, provided you are willing to sacrifice some things and doesnt cost the eatrh, on member on here has a manual EF GLi, with 130rwkw, Extractors, zorst, CAI, 3.45LSD Superlows, factory manual and ran a 14.6 (UN CAMMED, STOCK HEAD it is an unopened motor) cam, ticky head and a chip should see 13's from this car, if not, diff gears are what is stopping it, as the owner doesnt want 4.11's, it is a drive car, not a weekend warrior

OED666 pull 13.8 almost 2 years ago, and that a freak car ild say. im not saying e-series are not capeable of pulling 13s but many people with same mods are pulling completly diffrent times, engine power isnt the only concern for dragracing.
diff gears, suspension, gearbox ratios, temp, road/track grip, tires, drivers weight, gearbox/tranny/clutch condition, exhaust/cat condition, fuk even the accelerator pedal.
just to many variables to consider when drag racing

Last time the Green car ran, it ran a 14.0, and on that run it broke an engine mount and an axle. These have been rectified, and i can tell you, that given the right conditions this is a 13 sec car. I have no doubt that in the not too distant future, with the next round of upgrades, it will run a low 13, high 12, and this is NA. But as everyone keeps saying, we will have to wait and see.

I have the same cam as oed in my car.I have run the 14.5.It does depend on car setup and how good condition your existing car is.For example ..my car had a dying fuel pump, single spinning lsd and still slipping auto box.You would think these fixes should see the car go a little quicker.

All too often people lookat cams as the magic pill but if the car is not right then it wont pull the times.

Crescent mtorsports are making good headway and showing great potential. The numbers are slowly coming.I like Joe he is a good bloke too.
