13sec auto N/A 6....i say within 12months there will be a swag of em...

13sec N/A manual. Can be had for $3-4k, walk in the park.
13sec n/a for $3-4k?? where?? would like to see that!! its not quite that easy/cheap..
A 13sec N/A auto?. someone would probably install a conceal 150-200hp direct injection nitrous system to archive that. $3-4k should cover it. hehehe

funded by the magazine, so i guess almost unlimited funds :P they tried everything including trumpets but it ended up being a stock manifold to get them through

-----------------------------------------------------------------

V6 Vengeance
Because I can!
For those of you that read Street Commodores you would have no doubt heard of V6 Vengeance - Owned by the Deputy Editor of the Magazine.
It is an ordinary looking VN Commodore Sedan that has been extensively modified from its standard formation to result in a real powerhouse of performance.

The whole "V6 Vengeance" project was birthed as a random idea which quite quickly became adopted as Australia's new V6 Project story. Initially undertaken to document in detail the results from typical performance upgrades that could be fitted to the standard Buick 3.8 litre V6 motor, it continued to grow beyond initial plans and expectations.

As time passed and the project gathered momentum a few simple mod's turned into very serious modifications. Initially with the standard motor Scott added:

Extractors
Exhaust
Cold Air Intake
Spark Leads
Spark Plugs
Spark Coils
3.45 LSD Diff Ratio
Rebuilt Auto Transmission
High Stall Converter

With all of the above power improved from the approximately 130rwhp up to 160rwhp and subsequently the times gradually improved from high 16's ¼ mile to low 15's ¼ mile.
Although satisfying, it really wasn't quite what Scott wanted. The times were improving and power was increasing, but not by enough, or fast enough to really be content. As he tried different approaches and methods to gain better results, like removing the full air conditioner system and changing the power steering rack to a manual steering rack, the times just couldn't improve past the 15sec mark. It was concluded the standard motor just didn't have the go to achieve the times required.

It was then decided it was time to get serious.

Rebuilding The Buick
The projected plan was to rebuild the motor with all the good fruit, cam, head work, pistons ... etc to result in a very powerful N/A combo that would guarantee a substantial improvement in times. The re-build was undertaken and also included to the equation was the possibility of adding a Supercharger or Turbo system to the end package.
A brief call the FIT to follow up on the Breaking New's the VT Turbo Mule had recorded a 12.417 sec @ 117mph on its first outing immediately inspired some interest. Within 5 mins of toying with the idea of Supercharging or Turbo charging "V6 Vengeance" a decision was made to go the Turbo. The main reason was that a Turbo system would allow the extraction of the last inch of power from the V6 without losing power from having to drive a Supercharger system.

Scott was excited about the whole idea, as were FIT. A few more in depth discussions, and bouncing idea's back and forth, it was decided FIT would Sponsor the Development of "V6 Vengeance" in order to further it's own development of Turbo Manifold kits for earlier model Commodores, as well as assist in helping "V6 Vengeance" achieve it's goals - a mutually beneficial arrangement.

As time progressed the engine was finally completed and tuned to result in a whopping 195rwhp, a huge improvement from the previous tired original engine configuration. The power for an N/A combo was really quite good, and the times at the ¼ mile track immediately improved as a result. Almost immediately Scott broke into the 14sec zone, with low 14's being consistently recorded.

The new target as we get into the 13's with the N/A combo, before embarking on the Turbo Charging expedition. A few more improvements such as the addition of the Heralded "Triple Throttle Bodies" Manifold, which actually resulted in a power loss, but an improvement is ¼ mile results to achieve Scott the victory of a very successful 13.8sec pass, as with many others to follow.

Blowing Away The Competition
The new target as we get into the 13's with the N/A combo, before embarking on the Turbo Charging expedition. A few more improvements such as the addition of the Heralded "Triple Throttle Bodies" Manifold, which actually resulted in a power loss, but an improvement is ¼ mile results to achieve Scott the victory of a very successful 13.8sec pass, as with many others to follow.
Having achieved every goal and target for the N/A Combination, it was time to get the ball rolling on the Turbo Conversion. After much liaison with FIT the Turbo Manifolds became available and they were quickly assembled to "V6 Vengeance" along with Turbo and other components sourced by Scott, but without intercooler at this stage.

The combination was tuned by SAS and instantly revealed a huge improvement in power. How does 260rwhp on 7psi boost sound!! That was an improvement of nearly 60rwhp over the N/A combo, so the turbo had added a substantial increase to power and torque that would guarantee ¼ mile improvements. A quick test down at WSID proved this with an incredible 12.9sec @ 107mph being recorded on it's Turbo Charged Debut!!

The next stage of development was to add the intercooler and plumbing and re-tune with 11psi on-board. Wow, what a result, 323rwhp!! Unbelievable, the improvements front the intercooler and resultant increase in boost yielded 73rwhp gain!! Scott was over the moon with the substantial power increase, more than he or FIT had anticipated. He couldn't wait to get it back down to the track.

The result, a 12.142sec @ 111mph!! Incredible!! The amount of power gain and the resultant tumble in times had all of Australia talking and rejoicing. For a humble VN V6 3.8ltr Buick Engine Commodore to break into the 12's let alone very low 12's, with the guarantee of 11's very soon is a remarkable achievement, not only for Scott and FIT 9and other involved), but also to the whole V6 Community as this had now created a turning point in History where no longer the ¼ mile track would be ruled by the V8.

Scott's "V6 Vengeance" has re-written the history books and been an inspiration to many V6 Commodore owners to take on the challenges of the same modifications and follow the path the 12sec Victory. It's amazing the "cult" following emanating from this "V6 Vengeance" build-up story and the resultant fortune of the "Good ol' Aussie Battler" V6 Commodore.

FIT has been proud to Sponsor "V6 Vengeance" and is a continued sponsor of its further development.

Update: FIT now has now finished the development and replication of the Turbo Manifolds that took "V6 Vengeance" to victory and now has them available for purchase for only $1450.

If you want serious power and ¼ mile storming performance for your Buick or Ecotec V6 Commodore then these Turbo Manifolds will be your no: 1 choice!!

Headders + no exhaust = $450
Cam and Springs = $650
Head work+new gaskets = $1000
Minispool + 3.9 gears = $500
MS2 ECU = $500
Xtreme clutch $300

That’s $3400 (with all retail pricing)
$600 should buy you an adjustable fuel reg intake pipe, BBM and a wideband 02

Whack that in a 5speed EA and if you don’t cut 13’s or at least super low 14’s you’re a nong.

No quotes, that’s what I’ve been paying (and retail prices no mates rates).

My head was klined, 41mm valves, new seats, Saloon car throat cut, bowl polished etc etc for well under $900
Springs (singles) can be had for $90, doubles with retainers/collets are closer to $220 iirc.
Cam’s (billet) are around the $460-$500 mark
Pacemaker Comps are $450 installed
Minispool’s are $90, and new gears can be had for between $345 and $440
I paid $300 for my Extreme clutch over the counter
MS2 is $500 landed
Adjust fuel regs can be had for around $70, BBM + intake piping can be had for $150, WB02 kit will set you back $300.

Anyone wanting to build a strip/drift/thrash car could do 13’s piece of cake for $7k including the car.

13 second na mock eb. manual though.

that 13sec EB runs slicks and is trailerd to the strip. bit pointless if you ask me.

Even more pointless given that its a manual and the thread asked about autos.
And yes, its a trailer queen. There is no way it is a road car, it would be a complete pig to drive on the road.

I do believe you are talking about something you don't know about again.

I will invite anyone to the shop who would like to drive the so called TRAILER QUEEN. I have been driving it around for the past 2 weeks in fact. We drive into melbourne, to Geelong, pickup my girl friend and even go to the video shop. Its fully registered, fully legal and is a complete street car.

It is also getting an auto upgrade installed.

So im guessing the car has undergone compliancing for the ECU. Odd how a non-approved ECU can get complianced.....
