Hi all,

Well i finally bit the bullet and went out and bought a set of extractors and and 3" Exhaust for my BA.... all well and good right?... wrong...

Full Lukey System put in at Carline for $1050 (Stainless) All well and good. Awesome System.

I have a Clip out Resonator. that the installer removed and forgot to give me before i left the shop...

Anyways got pulled over on saturday night cause i gave the Falcon a bit of stick...

1000-2000 = 80db
2500-4000 = 110db
4500-6000 = 146db

which i don't know what your thoughts are but that is firkin loud as...

So off to get the resinator put in today... which is kinda disappointing cause idle she sounded off her tit's... nice lumpy noise... but getting a defect notice for it... sorta ruined the highlight of the exhaust.

The main question i have is if i get a Pod filter with that effect the "note" of my exhaust much?

Ha ha, 146db...
How much did it cost to fit the Pratt & Whitney jet engine? :P
What'd they do, stick the microphone UP the exhaust pipe!?!?

well they had the meter right at the end of the dump pipe. which i thought was stupid... cause no-one would be that close to my car...

I'm going to get Carline to test the DB before the try and fix the noise up... cause if it is still legal i'm going to tell the bacon chef's to jam it.

Night clubs at 160db so i can't imagine my beastie being as loud as one of those.... but that is the readings they reackoned they got.

The proper way to measure it is at a certain distance, and a certain angle and height, and with the vehicle held at the RPM which is 75% of where max power is made.
At least it is in vic.
Look at your states traffic authority website, should be info on their.

a pod filter wont effect the exaust note much atall, but it "might" cause a bit of induction growl, but this seems rare on falcons.

p.s. 146db.... thats loud, is urs a manual? cos dont auto ba's have a revlimiter deal at 3000rpm?

haha if i get an auto ba im gonna fiddle with the wiring so it only goes to 3000rpm in both park and neutral so i cant get defected!
146db, that's insanely loud for a BA.

allllright... i'm ready for takeoff... lol

Thought it sounded a little louder than stock but not that loud.

couldn't find any notes on the QLD Transport Website... so i Rung up the cop shop

Readings are to be take 5m from the rear of the car at an average of 1m above the ground and the maximum allowed under queensland law is 110db.

So i technically have nothing to worry about... cause there is no way it is that loud @ 5m....

Stupid n00b bacon chefs

already done... considering the n00b put on the defect notice that the reading was taken at the end of the dump pipe... lol

"umm daaa hey ma we got us a tracktor"

And we thought Cleatus was cool...

Hopefully picking up my Pod filter and CAI this weekend... be intresting if that changes the note at all. induction growl wouldn't be too bad at all..

lol just got a call back from the senior Sargent on duty...

I'm required to go to the cop shop this afternoon.

So that the Snr Sgt himself can test the DB rating of my exhaust... and if at such time the reading doesn't match the reading on the defect notice. (which i know it won't) i will be receiving an offical letter of appoligy from the issuing officer and the defect notice and the attached fine will be null and voided...

Alllright! lol

I'll let you's know how she goes... might even scan and post up the letter.

150 artillery fire at 500 feet.

Perhaps but i beg to differ, ive stood 100m away from live artillery fire without ear plugs, they friggin loud but not that loud.

Nearly 150 for an exhaust, thats s**t, thats almost as loud as Pyroay's stereo. You shoulda knocked the cop out... a***.
