$1500 + Pacey 4480's

Id be going:

$580 for for Rspec6 or 3 spec cam, vernier timing gear and crans springs package.
$35 AU3 XR8/GT Intake snorkel
$400 - DBA slotted rotors all round
$145 - EBC Green Stuff perfromance pads for front and Bendix advance pads for rears
$350 - 3.73 diff gears....if you already have an LSD diff...otherwise its like $750+ instead of $350 just for the gear set so ya might need to save a lil....LSD is more than worth the money....after that id go a handling/suspension package.....lookin at $750-$1200 for a pretty nice setup

The auto running any thing higher than an Rspec 3 are recommened to have the LSD centre with 3.45 diff gearing. (Remeebring R6/RSpec6 is a R3.5 in reality)

You can if you like go a higher stall convertor which will improve the idle but consume more fuel...as will the higher differ gears as the car will accelerate thru the rev range much quicker as it is able to transfer the power to the ground faster.

hard to say, but i think 135-145rwkw would be a more realistic number, pending on how healthy the engine is, tranny and the dyno of course...

Definately grab the biggest cam you're comfortable with, and get yourself an LSD with an aggresive ratio (if it were me, i'd go 3.9's if auto, 3.45's if manual)

intake mods do bugger all for noticable power.

if your going to go turbo eventually.... dont even bother with the pacemakers, rebuild your bottom end with new pistons n stuff, at least that way you'll basically have a brand new engine and be ready for the turbo set up.

yeh i think 150+ is too big an ask without modifying the head

yeh an no ... thats if hes deciding to go forced induction...cause really itsscrub all the mods, cam, exhaust, headers cause theyll all be no good...rebuilding the bottom end is a great idea and should be done prior to extreme mods...but with a 1.5K budget and already askin if he can get 160-180kw then i wouldnt bother as 180rwkw still dont need a strengthened bottom end...its just a good idea too :P
