flat spot in mine is about 2500ish, but its not like it dies or anything, it just fukin hauls a** above 2500 compared to under it.

give or take a few rpm, depending on throttle position. i think the 3800 is under wot. looking at falcon dyno sheets you see it develope around 3600-3800.

a flat spot at 2500 would be worrying, thats when i feel mine come on. dont know what mods you have, my engine is pretty much stock, just intake. check your exhaust for damage to the pipe or a banged up muffler, sounds like there could be something partially blocking it up. and until the pressure is built up sufficiently to somewhat overcome it, you are flatting.

if you are cammed and tuned, it could be in the tune and cam setup.

No cam or tune yet, and I have extractors + exhaust n an moded 3" intake.
Its always been there, but like I said, its not like it dies off, it just feels like it finds another 20% more throttle.

Actually, my standard EL engine, with Pacies and Redback and modified inlet, does the same thing.

If you are accelerating and don't move the pedal, when you get to around the 2200-2500 mark the car feels stronger and takes off.

I think this is due to where the cam comes in, and peak A/F ratio occuring.

All BBM equiped falcons I have driven do this. It could probably be tuned out if we had the capability to do so.

Cheers
BenJ

Sounds like the cam is dialled in a bit early, causing a nice smooth transition overlapping the flat spot.

But yeah, I have a flat spot and it's annoying me

I dont have the 1673 cam i have the 1502au cam and i have the flat spot at the same place as you guys are saying. On the dyno it showed that it was leaning out, im not sure how to fix it. I think im going to get a unichip put in and proply tuned.

Putting mine on the dyno after my QLD holiday trip. So hopefully I will get mine sorted out. I think I might retard my timing a bit so it kicks in earlier. Better for every day uses.

Though hate to redial the cam for drags.

get a flash tune, will do the same job, and will have a wide choice of tuners.

I'll be getting a J3 Moates chip for like a hundred bux once I get some afr readings.
I'm pretty sure its not leaning out though, as its rich throughout the rest of the rev range atm.

Take the time to look around, or make a new thread if you can't find the answer your looking for. Don't hijack someone else's thread.
