Anyone used one? thoughts/experiences?
It will be going into a EF manual, I'm also thinking of purchasing a J3 chip with Ticky or better specs.
Also can I pinch used shims out of an EA-EL head or should I buy new?

99% sure I'll be purchasing this cam in the next week or 2.
Cheers

Good camshaft I must say...then again this is my first aftermarket camshaft. Equipped with a vernier gear, you can get a full potential from the camshaft.

For the price you pay, it does a bloody excellent job. I'd recommend it :D.

With the shims, you can get some out of an EF/EL rocker assembly when you go to pick-a-part or something.
I paid just under $50 for a set of new shims...then not realizing i was getting rocker assembly at pick-a-part for 27 bucks including shims...

I cna get 2nd hand shims for pretty much nothing, just making sure I could use em.
I dont think I'll be getting the vernier gear at this stage tho.

I see you have 144rwkw with the cam, have you had a 1/4 run yet?

Uhh...about the 1/4mile...lol

I did run it, but blew my heater hose on the first run down the drag strip ending my day. Though I did beat my own personal best that day with a 16.0495s pass and trap speed of 90.76mph. That was half throttle on the final quarter of the 1/4mile due to flashing lights on the dash in 4th gear

Bystanders were amused of my demise...*shakes fist*

so you put on two sets? so there is one on top of the other rather than just single shim?

Pretty sure thats the idea as the cams are regrinds. Billets you dont need anything, regrinds you add a set of shims to offset the changes

That is correct. I have 2 shims in each arm, making a total of 24 shims in all arms.

Works fine.

Just use a set of the old shims that are already in the rocker arms, and then get either a set of 12 from Ford for about $50 - 60, or try going to the wreckers and pick some up for maybe cheaper. I don't think they have to be new...

There is already a single shim in each rocker arm from the factory.

When you fit a Wade cam regrind, you need to add another single shim in each rocker so theres a total of two shims in each rocker arm.

Yours being an EF, you will need to add 1.9mm thick shim in each arm. Im unsure about diameter of the shim, but ford will know.
