What do want?
Power? Handling? Looks? Engine Sound? Interior Sound? You'll have to narrow it down a little. |

P plate restrictions means I can't do all that much to the engine, but i was going more for engine sound and a slight improvement in power. Extractors and such. So a bit of power a bit of engine sound. |

In that case try: Cold air intake, extractors and perhaps a cat-back exhaust with a good tip. That will probably take care of most of your budget, depending on how you go about it... you might have a few hundred left over if you're lucky.

Power? Handling? Looks? Engine Sound? Interior Sound? You'll have to narrow it down a little. being in 6 cyld section take out the interior, handling, looks, what we have left power engine sound. so exhaust no 1. would recommend a set of extractors would say buy a second hand set as they are much cheaper. but these are not needed right away but i felt a huge diff when i put mine on. a 2.5inch exhaust with 1 muffler and 1 resi this is loud enough for me but found only having one muffler was way 2 loud and the car droned. so prices can range from 200-400 on a cat back exhaust and second had extractors 100-300 (note cat will need to be modded to fit) brand new your looking at 500+ fitted. or save 1000 and a shop will fit exhaust extractors and a new cat. cams. ok next bang for your buck upgrade is a cam. wade sell a regrind cam that you send them a cam they will regrind it to the specs you would like for a total of 135.00 if your handy with cars can do it yourself if not so handy someone can do it for you. would recommend the 1636 pretty much the biggest cam you can go on a stock ecu and automatic transmission.should take 2-3 hours to install. intake. can get a wide mouth xr intake to the box with a k&n panel filter. sell them genuine from ford for 40.00 panel filter will be 70.00-100.00 change stock airbox to throttle body with an 3" stainless steel pipe with rubber connectors. heaps of diff ways to do this do a search and plenty of results will come up. note there are other ways people have done things so people will say diff things.

Definately get extractors and catback exhaust first. That way the car will breathe a bit better and get a bit more fuel economy too. Then just a better filter like a K&N panel or pod, whatever you like lol, with a bigger snorkel or just a C.A.I from the front bumper.
Depending on how much of a bargain you can get the above things for, think of lowering the car, looks good and will handle better |

go to a diff shop first and get a set of 3.45's or higher diff ratio ( 3.7, 3.89 or 4.11)
make more of a difference than doing your exhaust. then get a nice mandrel bent free flowing catback with a big main striaght through muffler and a hotdog. you will sound nice and take off a lot quicker.

I wish people would stop telling others to get a K&N filter, the supposed airflow advantage you receive is negligable. Everything else is pretty much spot on. |

I'm so lost....but honestly what's the point in spending $250? You might aswell just buy a $100 head deck from supercheap and keep stock speakers as any speakers you will fit into that budget won't be worth upgrading to anyway But on track, +1 for diff gears, then exhaust + headers (try to get 2nd hand), then a cam. Don't waste money on a K&N filter unless yours is f**k, pre BBM intake mods do piss all for power unless you have more money to spend. Seeing as your on a budget there are obviously better things to spend money on.

You guys are forgetting the most important thing BRAKES! The standards are rubbish at the best of times let alone with more grunt. Look for larger rotors and good quality brake pads to slow the overweight beast down.
