Hi all.
i have a 1994 ed falcon that just randomly turns off then wont start again.
Sometimes it will start after 10 seconds other times a good few minutes.
One time it ran perfect i turned the car off at the shops came out and it would restart for ages.
The alternator/ Power steering pump has been changed and it is charging 14.7 volts now as the last one was stuck charing 16+ volts.
Had new plugs put in aswell but other then that this vehicle hasnt been touched.
Just wondering if anyone could please give me some ideas on how to fix this.

had a mate tell me fuel pump but it primes u can hear it running when ignition is on

It could be the TFI module on the side of the distridutor. I'd check the things like leads and plugs for spark first and then try the TFI.

had same problem with mine, i took it to a mechanic and he put in a new pump against my will, still did it. went to an auto electrictian and he found it $40 fix. compared to a $300 fuel pump. diagnostics helps.

definatly try the tfi module as they play up with age, when they are hot they wont work and when they are cold they will be fine, definatly get it checked properly with a diagnostic tool would help alot tho

no worrys, these are very common, i had one on my car working fine and then i went to adjust the timing one day and had no spark, wondered what it was and i looked at the tfi and it just fell apart in my hands due to age :x
