Hi guys, ive got a 1997 EL fairmont ghia and occasionally when i start the car no power is sent to the stereo and also my electric windows and windscreen wipers dont work either. The problem usually fixes itself if i turn the car off and on again, just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what the problem could be. Thanks in advance

Most likely a d**k BCM (Body Control Module), this is located just behind the dash next to the steering column about inline with your left knee and being a Fairmont it will be coloured green. All of the things you have mentioned that have stopped working run through this. They're easy enough to pick up second hand, and just so you know, an EF Fairmont BCM has a completely different electrical connection to an EL.
But, just in case, check all fuses relays and earth points first, it may be as simple as a loose connection. |

after I start mine I get no power to any accessories, a jiggle of the key and a slight turn back towards the off pos and all is good. I think it is a d**k spring in the ignition housing.

Be very careful about jiggling the key mate. Same thing happened on my EF falcon (stereo drop out etc) and it ended up being the end of the ignition barrel coming off. (think of a lid for a jar filled with wires, this comes off and doesnt connect with the copper plate inside barrel).
You can take it out (requires undoing two headless bolts) and simply pushing the sides back in. See attached image.... Note sorry bout the really bad diagram, but it may help visualise it a bit better.
