My 2005 BA2 RTV dedicated gas has intermittent fault, engine will shut down, whether under power, cruising or idling, intermittent fault. sometimes will go 2-300km no problems other times 2-5 times (or more) within a km or 2.
Cruise control is dropping out sometimes and will not reset.
Seems to be very minor loss of power before shut down, can sometimes sense very brief period of power drop but no shut down occurs.
Mechanic has changed over throttle body unit (twice) 2nd hand, tried new actuator.
Found broken and disconnected vacuum pipe to diff lock which also goes to throttle. Also replaced inoperative solenoid on gas converter. performance improved, fuel consumption dropped from around 22L/100lm to 17L/100. consumption rising slightly to 17.6L/100km.
When shutdown occurs have to fully turn off key to restart, sometimes will restart ok, sometimes will restart with engine light on tacho around 500-700, no throttle control, turn key off again and on to restart. Some times when restarting, no engine light on but no throttle control, revs around 5-700rpm.
The error messages vary, point to Throttle body, but mechanic now leaning towards faulty CPU.
Want to do a Factory reset on CPU but cannot find the article about resetting computer for this vehicle.
Can anyone help, how to reset computer and any ideas on fixing this problem????
