Gezza200 You either talk a lot of crap or have one of those freak Fords that just seem to go really hard for no real reason. A stock supra will murder an EL Ford all day long unless A. The supra was stuffed, B. He wasnt trying C. He cant drive.

I'm not talking up mine at all, im just saying that a stock supra NA, id love to see one of them do a 14.9 because every supra NA i have come up to i have pulled away with out much trouble. Unless mine does better than 14.9 but i doubt that. I will have to take mine down to calder one day to show you what it runs.

I'm not necessarily trying to beat the supra in a race just yet, I just want to tune the engine so it has more power- I'm dropping a 6-speed, 3.8:1 diff gears and a light weight tail shaft to put the power down so thats not a worry, it's just that I'm pretty sure supra's already have something along those lines.

So in theory I just need to get more power at the flywheel, my EF will weigh a similar amount and I should be winar.

-also the NA supras only have ~160 odd kw, so with my driveline overhaul I should already be able to smoke them :D

with all due respect, an N/A supra auto vs my Tickford 6 auto, the ford beat it, the N/A supra's arent that good, they are quickish considering their weight but it wasn't able to beat my fairmont.

Yeah exactly, i wonder if the people that are saying they go quick have actualy raced one? They are 165kw @5900rpm, 290nm @3500rpm and weigh 1440kg. So its pretty much the same power to weight ratio as a ED XR6 with 70odd nm of torque less.

The thing you have to keep in mind is they have a DOHC 3.0L thats built like a brick s**t- So in theory if they did the same sort of N/A mods as me they will probably go faster - I guess I'm banking on them being unmodified.

The main point of the excersise though is my ford cost me $2k, the transmission conversion will probably set me back by 3k, tail shaft and the various N/A mods about another 1k - whereas a supra by itself costs at least 12k, and that would be for a fked one.

Wow, such angry people in here. I'm not going to argue with Gezza. If he says his car can beat N/A Supras, then I believe it. Most non-turbo Supras/Skylines will be driven by p***y p-platers who probably don't know s**t about cars anyway. Stop trying to start fights.

What happens on the street, stays on the street, don't bring it onto the forums and pretends it's a useful performance comparison.

I've jumped MY01 WRXs to 80 before because the drivers have bogged the launch (like 80% of the ones that a care about their cars do), doesn't mean I go around claiming EDs are quicker then WRXs, that would be stupid.

yep if i can recall, gezza's car has disposed of a wide range of performance vehicles turbo skylines etc, so looks to be quite the street warrior

Should really take it to the track first as a fair comparision, as how do you know your car isnt pulling high 15's at the moment????

ditto.

What's the point of this thread anyway? Do you have a specific car you want to beat or are you just generalising? If generalising its about as useless as masterbating in a cold bath...
