strictly no turbo or v8 for p platers in vic with regards to turbo diesel.
there is also a power to weight ratio law,
a law that prohibits engine modification and a limit of total vehicle modifications.

i wish it were as easy as what you have herd

I'm fairly certain they'd have their asses handed to them by the rozzers if they were caught.

In SA, there are a couple of loop holes for P platers; If you already owned the turbo or V8 before the law was passed you are exempt for that car only. Or, if a turbo or V8 is the only car available, ie: your whole family only has turbo cars, you can drive one of those exempt.

Honestly, unless we are talking about micro car's with turbo's, IE little 660cc suzuki's with tiny turbo's the size of your fist, it's not a bad thing that p platers can't drive turbos or v8's. Too little experience can lead to trouble. Maybe the law needs to be changed so they can do certain driver courses & if they pass they can then drive turbo's or v8's?

Anyway, those who do are running a big risk, to their wallet & license. Let's face it. A brand new v6 commy or I6 falcon has as much if not more power than v8's of 10 or so years ago, so if you really want power, drive one of them.

Otherwise, start saving for when you get off ya P plates. You could even start to hoard parts too, so you can have your powerful engine as soon as you get off the P's.

Cheers

ToranaGuy

Even the SSV's with the big v8 f**k fly! A mate has one, green with sunroof, leather & so on. It even get's good cruise economy too, but he usually has the boot into it around town. It would be way too much for most P plater drivers & even a lot of drivers in general.

Cheers

well this GTS surprised me when it hit second (auto) and stepped out, but then the Stability Control kicked in.
The SS-V has nothing on a GTS though
