Interesting...

So how would a 3.2 react to boost? I don't know much, but I reckon I'd be willing to give that a go. 8-)

I dunno, I was just thinking if you could get it to rev nice and high, pop a 6 speed behind it or a nice short diff, you could lay some nice rubber. 8-)

Have any of you ever driven a 3.3 XD to XF? It's like driving a 4.1 with the timing 30 degrees retarded, they are seriously gutless!
EA 3.2 = same.

so are they just utter crap or what? and im interested to see what they rev too...

totally different scenario but i know people used to use 327 engines in their boats over 350's cause they could rev harder with the shorter stoke

I know people that use the 350 chev over the 327 cause they are a better boat anchor.

nothing wrong with Chevs, i built one for my mates HK Bathurst Monaro about 12 years ago, the thing has seen 8000 rpm and is still going, it had nothing special done to it either.

The 3.2 is going to rev to f**k, because it has no goodies on it to get it going! Go out and retard the timing around 15 degrees on your 3.9 or 4.0, you'll then have a 3.2 lol.

it wouldn't be that hard to get some power out the 3.2L you'll just have to rev the crap out of it.

get an EF or early EL head spend $1000 on porting milling to get the compression up. get a nice large cam, ( some designed to get a 4.0L to rev to 6500rpm, tighe, surecam, crow, wade ) with a smaller engine it will want to rev more) and put multipoint manifold on it, have it tuned with a good ECU.

the 4L doesn't have the ability to make any more power than the 3.2L, you just have to rev the 3.2L higher.

torque is a different story
