Any EB to AU XR will have a live axle 3.45 LSD diff. EF2 and EL Fairmont Ghia's had them (V8 and I6). So did NL Fairlane Concordes. The only one I'm not sure of are the DF/DL LTD's.
Obviously EB to ED will have the same disc/caliper/handbrake setup. You can fit an EF/EL diff into an EA to ED if wanted. EA's have a smaller bush in the lower arms, so spaces would have to be put in to put out the mount point. You can swap the brake and axle assembly from an EB/ED diff into an EF/EL diff if you want to keep the brake setup. But will have to do some magic cable tying to mount the brake lines. Or you can put an EF/EL diff into an EA to ED, and use the EF/EL calipers if need be. Just need to be a little creative with the brake line bending and placement across the diff. EF diffs are a little easier to use as the handbrake mounts across the diff can be used to hold and support the brake lines. But you also must have 15" wheels to do this. EF/EL calipers dont fit under 14" rims (they do for some, but its a F**k tight fit). Plus you get the use if the EF/EL handbrake that doesnt seize up every 2 weeks. Or if really wanted, you could just swap the centres... Providing the diff your swapping the 3.45 into is not a 3.08 or below... As the centres physically do not fit into into the housings. |

Manual ED XR8's got the 3.27
Autos got the 3.45 Also thought the XR6's worked the same, 3.27 manual, 3.45 auto.

After reading up on it, yes V8 e-series auto monts got a 3.23. Surely someone around here knows the answer... What about 4.9EFFUTURA. That guy seems to be a friggin' human Ford library |

I'm talking EA-ED.
I got no f**k idea EF-EL's EA-ED's didn't get 3.23's as far as I know, we got the 3.27's.

3.23's were for EF/EL, 3.27's for the earlier models

for you mate, seeing as your car is an EB, id go a 3.45, cos its a straight swap. you just have to find a diff from the right car to make it as painless as possible, like an ED xr6 or EB if they have a 3.45, or you can do what i did and steal one off a NC fairlane

(im pretty new to diff's) and roughly how much will it cost?
