Oh ok, good stuff, another question, if i were to get a bigger cam, extracters, and other various performance mods, would it still only make sense to get a 2 1/2" zorst?

Cheers Voxace

Yeah 2.5" is plenty most people reckon.
I think JMM were testing a 3" on their BA DEV kits and found it to be almost pointless.

Yeah, my mate has an EBII, not sure what headers he has, but he got a 3" exhaust, he said he didnt notice much of a power gain, at first he thought it was a loss. Sounds like s**t aswell :x

A wade cam will cost $122 + post, you will also need shims (around $50), lifter seals (around $15), rocker cover gasket ($15?) etc...

Voxace. do you think i would i need to/or benefit from replacing my lifter springs with the 1004 - 112 wad cam to XR rated springs?

And would an upgrade from a stock fuel regulator to an xr6 model add more to this setup???

I only engine mods i have currently on my stock EB2 I6 are an 2/5 r/back exhaust/XH snorkel/ea intake tube/flat panel greencotton filter/NGK Iridium's/ 155,000ks on the clock. See gallery

I'm pulling off my rocker cover after buying a chrome I6 cover from ebay (67bucks), i wanna see what else i can change over while ive got the cover off. But im no mechanic so not sure what needs to be done to complete these mods (Reliabily, and not @ huge costs)

Paceys are on the way....

Any help would be awesome!

Hi there,

Your valve springs will be fine with the wade 1004 cam, I wouldn't bother changing them.
Just make sure you get a lifter seal kit. Replace your valve stem seals if you are in the mood for replacing things, although I'd say they would be fine after 155,000km.

I wouldn't get the XR6 reg either, I'd stick with the stocko as they run rich as they are. The XR one is rated at a higher fuel pressure so really doesn't help until you are making a lot of power.

Might as well buy a new PCV valve from Ford to put in your new rocker cover too, they are only cheap.

Cheers.

Cheers.

G'day voxace and others with cam upgrades,

Just got my new cam from Wade cam's in oakleigh, (Melbourne) spoke to the guys down there and ended up going for the 1004-112 (Mid-range) cam grid.

Voxace, Is there any setup problems with the install of this cam, i will be following your suggestions that i replace various value seals and retain stock valve springs, i'm going to use 12x Metal 1.9mm spacers (which i'm getting from ford) which one of the guys at wade's specified is needed. im using my local mechanic for the install, but im wondering if i need some pro workshop to get it right First Time!

cheers Twstd EB

cheers

hope to get it done early next week! can't wait... now the only decision, tuned length paceys or scavenger (??) extractors to suit!! i really want more pull mid range torque to match the 1004 cam grind.

Knowing that at your age it would be incredibly expensive and illegal to drive a supercharged car...

We need to know what model car this blower is going on!

Hey fella's, just like to say this is a great site for young guys who love Fords to do some personal mods to their cars, but im inquiring about the installation of EF/EL/AU thermos on my EBII, as i hate the sound of that god damn clutch fan. :x :x On the advice of my local radiator specialist, i was told that it was not a good idea to do so as it will dramatically reduce the efficiency of the radiator's cooling. Last thing i want is to do is to cook my motor. I was just wondering if anyone (i know Voxace has) has had any experience of putting thermos on an EBII and if they have noticed a change in the motors running temp. Cheers.
