Was looking into the ss induction kit, but for $350 +,decided to give it a crack myself. Got the 80mm flex pipe from autobarn for $25 and 90mm pvc pipe from bunnings for $10. Took 2 hours to complete. Cut an 80mm hole in the front of the airbox with a holesaw, fed the pipe into the front grille. Took the std outlet (55mm opening) off the back of the airbox and cut a 90mm hole for the pvc pipe fitted with 2 part epoxy. Partnered up with a K&N panel it revs much better up top end, ready for my new cam and exhaust upgrade.

Thats exactly how I did my AU air box! lol
Remember to keep an eye out on the PVC pipe over time mate. mine started to warped from the heat at the clamp end. leaving a gap for dust to get sucked in. ended up using 90mm mild steel pipe off cut I got from the local exhaust joint for nothing... cheap C***! lol There was no way in hell I was going to spend over $300 dollars for a piece of plastic that most probably cost $20 dollars to manufactured.

Nice & neat work mate. I think I over tighten the clamps, I think thats what caused it to warp.

A friend built a similar induction for his 5.0L ed and then got more gains by insulating the air box to keep out excess engine heat. The intake tempreture droped from 55deg to around 10deg.c and gave some very notable results.

whats the biggest size pvc pipe you can fit in there without modifying bonnet.
I ask this as what if you were to get a bit smaller than the biggest u can fit, wrap insulating sheeting around it, stick that inside the big pvc, paint, install......wouldnt that work?
