I noticed this morning on the side of my car , it says
"4.0i computer torque control", do all EL falcons have this on the side of their cars? and why is computer torque so important for it to be on the side of the car? what does it do?

i belive its just that the ecu changes the change over flap in the inlet manifold to give it more torque in lower rev range and let it breath better when reving? which is nothing special most cars have this just ford feel they have to tell everyone about it like most cars advertising what it has eg 4 valves, fuel inj, twin cam.

i thought it had somethin to do with the way the gearbox kicks back and how the engine revs after it done it, ie applying the right revs forthe selected gear and thottle position

nah, the ECU controls when the BBM changes over, thereby controlling the engines torque/power output
as for the bit on the side....... probably just to look good, like chrysler when they had thier "4.3L Electronic lean burn" badges

Hmmm.
If I stick some "Lean Burn" badges on my car, will I get an extra 200km per tank of juice???

Also worth mentioning EEC changes the spark and fuel maps when the manifold switches between runner lengths.
Not sure about I6 but V8 EECs have torque reduction functions from what i've read... not that you'd plaster that on the side of the car
