Ok i have a mate who wants to put a carby on his eb! He's also in the past run a 7th injector (drilled hole into fuel rail)

Basically i want to know if the carby is feesible on an i6 or is he going to blow his a*** up!

He wants to run it on a well worked head, from Flowcraft(vic)

if it was an EA with a centre point injection you could

with his EB it would have multi point
best bet for more power is to the the BBM conversion

YES it is feasable to put a carby on the car but not worth it IMO

I've seen lots of 6 cyl with 4 barrel carbs, but unless it's extensively worked he will be flooding it, kiss his rings good by.
To get any benefit he really needs a 4 barrel manifold, he can use the CPI manifold and possibly get an adaptor to suit but your still pulling 4 barrels through a 2 barrel manifold.
I haven't heard of a 4 barrel manifold for these engines, but who knows maybe someone makes them.
He's better off with a 350 or 500 2 barrel Holley.

Seen quite a few as well. Some with big holleys, others with triple webers. CFI manifold and adaptor is the easiest way to go, but you could also look at modifying an x-flow one to suit. I have a cain 4brl manifold here that doesnt look far of fitting an e-series head.

Yeah Neil, not a bad little carb either, worked well on stock to mild 302's.
Still, seen plenty of blokes throw 4 barrels on a worked 6 and it was overkill, just depends on how much it has done to it.
I use to have an XF running twin std XF Webbers, not sure what was done to the motor but it had roller rockers and extractors and it went pretty hard, no problems ripping an ED XR6 at the time.

Cool should be interesting, im pretty sure its a mongrel 4ltr(he claims 4.1) with the cpi manifold.

cant wait to see him put it together.

i recon a 4 banger will make it lazy, a 350 would be better suited, i have played with 4.0l and holleys, i used a cfi manifold and a holden six adaptor plate to fit a 350 holley, it runs nice althogh i anit a big fan of the cfi manifolds just looking at them you can see that the 2nd and 5th pots dont flow very well with the right angles, 3th and 4th arnt much better and then you have 1st and 6th that have a nice long curve straight in to the head.
