Hi all,

I started on my 4.o litre Ford powered Hilux earlier in the week. I'm building it for the ALL MOTOR class and hope to debut it in 52 days at the Jamboree.

So far I've got a 86 cab chassis and today I finished the engine mounts. I've had to mount the motor way forward as class rules prohibit cutting the firewall. I'm running a Bw40 which should survive a mild motor.

I'm hoping to get the car into the twelves with cam, exhaust and a few mods. Won't get it registered until later in the year.

Should have some pics up later in the week

Chuck

If it wasn't for the class rules requiring overhead cam I would have gone with the commodore V6.

The 4.o sits to far forward IMO

Radiator had to go in rear as no room up front...

http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/4545/rearradit4.jpg

I wouldnt recommend this for a regular conversion, a commy V6 would be much better BUT not legal in the class of drag racing I'm interested in

Always interested in performance bits......I'll make my own headers but am after a second hand cam if anyone has one....

I cant wait to develop this type of motor. I had good results with Hondas and hope to continue with the 4.o

Just wondering - did you run all the stock wiring harness to the ford ECU?

Radiator in the back just shows how little room there is...

So what does the class your entering this into involve?

Cheers
