Hi Guys.

My Dad has a EF 96 Falcon Auto with only 100,000k's on the clock. Hes had this car since new

The car has never been driven hard.

When you drive the car a little harder then usually for eg, Half throttle but not full. It then will piss out about 250ml of gear box oil from some where. I cant see where its coming from because its sprays the oil everywhere from the driving.

But it wont leak one drop if you drive it easy. no more then 1/4 throttle.

I put back oil in the box and its on full again.

But when it shifts up or down gears then sometimes it will shutter from 2nd 3r 4th or hunt for a gear from 3-4th couple of times. 1st gear is fine.

I have noticed that the gear box oil is very very very dark.

Has anyone else every had a issue with oil pissing out and the box shuttering etc while driving. Mostly does it under load, Eg going up a hill.

Do you think It needs a New Box? or it could be something else? old oil?

Thanks for you help guys

Trace the two trans oil line that goes into the radiator. check to see if the hoses & clamps are tight. check the contition of the hose as well. also check the side of the radiator for leaks as well.

Take it in for a reverse slush clean{full service}. Midas or ultra tune can do it.
