im looking into taking about 40 thou of my head as my enigine is being rebuilt
what problems can be caused by this?
and should my pistons be further fly cut?

Why is it warped?
Just use high comp pistons if you are rebuilding it instead of shaving the head to bump up the comp.
If you shave too much it wont run on pump fuel and it will ping its a*** off, from high comp.

nah just another fella on here did it and got a pretty respectable 1/4 mile run
who makes high comp pistons?

Dont always just do what other people do dude, Might find it doesnt work the same on your motor
Maybe have a talk to your engine builder about it :D he can shed a professionals light on the subject
How spewin would you be if you rebuilt the motor and the comp was too high :( ping city...
Pretty sure acl do a couple of pistons for the 4.0

it dont matter if you use high compression pistons or shave the head when you raise the compression so you will need a higher octane fuel to stop if from pinning.

Hey Kelv, whats your goals with the motor??? You planning on using some forced induction down the track or you keeping it N/A? Which mechanic are you using in town as well?

Warning bells are ringing, sounds to me like they dont know much/dont have experience with the old 4.0.
Id be talking to somewhere who has had a few good 4.0,s built to compare to before i gave them any cash, they sound a bit unsure dude.
You could spend 5 grand on a 4.0 but if its not tuned right it wont go :D

if you dont raise the comp to much it will be fine. and if you are contemplating boost then leave the comp how it is.
and you dont need forgies if it is going to be NA go with the au motor as they have lighter pistons and a better bottom end.
and how much power are you chasing.
