i got pacemaker 4499's fitted the other day to my el and i cant say iv noticed any power differences at all and perhaps even has made it a bit slower. its hard to tell but there is definatley no noticable gains. does this sound normal? i already had a 2.5" catback fitted

i thought mine made it quicker but i reckon most was placebo cos i had a hi flow cat done at the same time, so exhaust was much deeper and louder which made it feel faster haha

Give it some time, after the computer adjusts itself fully to them theres a difference there, though, I would say after fitting those 4499's to my xr6 that it is definately not a good bang for buck mod. Also made the car sound like s**t

I highly doubt it.

before and after time slips will show. if the MPH is higher its making more power.

Why does everyone think extractors give you like 20kw.
There good for what half that maybe less.

You should notice the car revs out cleaner.
Is a little better on fuel.
Drives better both straight and in bends and has a little more power.

I also got 4499s fitted 2 days ago and noticed exactly what I thought I would.
Its an exhaust mod.

i found that when i went from std manifold to extractors, that i had lost a little bit of down low torque, but gained more in the mid range and top end..

but the more intake,head,cam/engine mods you do the exhaust will compliment them giving you the gains expected

I ran my xh xr6 ute down the quarter with only cat back exhaust and then fitted 4499's and went from 15.65 to 15.00 and picked 6mph too..

stock EL would make about 105rwkw and i made 127rwkw with full exhaust 2.5" with high flow cat and 4480's, they do make a fair increase. You probably cant tell because the car revs up alot smoother now

about the same or touch quicker from memory but in a ute it's a fine line anyway between a half good launch and tyre smoke..

i wasnt expecting it to turn the car into some sort of hectic street machine, but was just thinking a bit more good would come from it. i have noticed it revs a bit cleaner. not sure what "carboning up" is but i have heard it thrown around a bit so we will wait and see :)

If your getting a cam and headword then go the pacemaker's, But from experience if you want the engine left stock your better off with a 2.5" sports exhaust and a 2.5" 200CPI cat and you will still have that get up and go of the lights too 60-75km/hr!!!!!!!!
