hey guys i have a 03 ba xr6 5speed man, just recently it started to stick in 3rd gear i would really have to give it a good pull to get it out and into 4th, then a few days later i had it in 4th and it just came out of gear, so i gave it abit of time and used it a couple days later and did the same thing just came out, but now it doesn't stick in 3rd it just pops out of 4th while driving , i havn't driven it in 4th since just go from 3rd to 5th. does anyone have any idea on what it could be or have had the same problem? thanks guys .

Sounds like the syncromesh has gone, i would take it to a transmission specialist and get their opinion

i've got a 02 xr6 5 speed man, same sort of thing, sometimes 3rd gear sticks, if i push it forward back towards 3rd it comes out fine, same thing with 4th, if i push it down towards 4th to then up to get it out the problem doesnt occur, it hasnt done it for a while tho only when i first bought the car

ok, a few people have said that to me, i got told its an idea to just buy a 2nd hand gearbox and get it put straight in, then take it in and pay for parts. labour have my car of the road depending on what parts i have to wait for etc etc. does any1 have any idea on what would be best, just to get the synchros fixed or just wack in a 2nd hand gear box. and does any1 kno what prices im looking at juts to get the synchros fixed w/labour etc. cheers guys
