Can anyone tell me how hard it is to fit a 5 Speed Gear Box to a EL Fairmont.

I have had it with the lack of power from the 4 Speed auto it always seems to be slugish on a Hill and does not take off as it should when passing another car. All my other cars that I have had were manuals and having this auto is a PAIN.

Yeah, I forget how many I've done before, two many, getting good a getting the pedal box out with scratching my knuckles too! lol .

But yeah, everything just bolts up ... You won't have to change your ECU if you don't want to, Just a few resitors on a few pins sorts all that out .... (done that quite a few times too!)

The only part of the kit I don't have is the fake leather cover that goes over the gearstick inside the car, but supercheap sell them for about $10 or so ..

The AU falcons have a different size bellhousing (longer), I've got everything you'd need for the AU, but you'd have to chase a different bellhousing ..

I sell the full kits for around $1000 ... sometimes under, but can install/fit ...

But Also, I'd double check that the T5 with a bigger bellhousing will fit with the same input shaft etc ..

Timboxrute, I am sorry to hear about your loss. I just saw where you live at thought, yeah that would be right some low life drug f**k up d***head in Cambelltown for sure. Was it the same Silver ute you had when you were on the BlueMountains- Bathurst Cruise earlier this year :?:

Do the car have more power feel now that a 5 speed is fitted and has the fuel economy changed when the box was fitted.
