Yeah just be carefull with the ecu.
Currently it recieves a MAP signal which is the average of all 6 cylinders. If you just plumbed the MAP into 1 cylinder then it would not be correct for all cylinders and it would have too many pulses as the pressure in just 1 cylinder will fluctuate alot. What you have to do is run a pressure line from each TB into an accumulator (metal can) and plumb the MAP sensor up to that, that way you will get an average reading. Dont worry about idle speed controller, just have a mechanism to manually adjust the idle. Otherwise the better option is to get an aftermarket ECU with ALPHA-N tuning (just throttle and RPM) it's easy to tune and will work great. You also need an air temp reading. This will have to be a compromise but best to just put it in one of the throttle bodies AFTER the throttle - air cools as the pressure drops through a throttle. Remember the runner lengths/diameter will have a big effect on how the car produces it's power. At least make sure they are all the same length!! You might want to build a box around the bellmouths and duct cold air from the front - Aka BMW M3 style, cheaper too since you only need 1 airfilter. 6 K&N's = $600 !!! Cool project.

thanks guys good to see so many people interested, i was looking on ebay theres a guy selling a eb style manifold with fuel rail AND good injectors (so he says) and only 1 bid for $5 and a day left might bid just before its finished and get it nice n cheap.....how much torque/power you guys rekon this think could produce if done correctly.....

I was going to ask if theres any simple math to work this out.. silly question. Better still, is there any software out there that can help us simulate the variables here? I guess TB size will also play a very large part.

Four 40mm TBs would be ideal with a plenum style air box over the front, as said above.
Wont be too hard to cut the runners and weld flanges onto each runner, or as I did, weld one long flange to cover all 6 runners. You can get heaps of small TBs from wreckers... I bought 4 hyundi 40mm TBs for 50 bucks... cheap as, but the alloy welding cost me 300 all up, linkages are a pain but just take a good look at some old alfas and fiats, as they had really good simple linkages on there twin webbers. Also with Air temp sensors, that could be mounted in the airbox befor the TBs... its how they are usually plumbed in |

How come you had to get alloy welding and why did it cost 300 bucks couldnt you have just hired say an arc welder and bobs your uncle?

welding alloy is more of an art form than a skill..... b**ch to get a perfect weld IMO, and you gotta use a TIG welder

Yep, TIGs cost heaps and its no easy job to weld alloy. I'd expect to pay arourd 20 bucks per flange for welding of your manifold, so 120 would do it... I had alot more to weld, and had injector seats welded in too

I'm not fussed now, as it woudl go to waste if i moved to a boosted configuration anyhow. Just curious as to why it would be a waste with a boost? GTR Skylines have a 6tb setup.. mmm GTR.. they are no slouch

mmm i have a spare mpefi manifold, should hack it up , so 40mm tb's would be the way t go? what you guys think?

ok, ive found a guy that can do me free tig welding, i ave two spare mpefi manifolds now i just need some tb's todo it and some plumbing, was thinking of running shafts betwen the butterflies on the tb's? then the ea stylemain linkage to spin them? in theory it sounds good what do u guys think?

good stuff that was my theory too but things like map sensor is going to be a problem and also the setting the idle but you can put it on see how she runs and if it aint any good wack on the old one you may lose 100 bucks seeing as you got alot of stuff for free so go hard and let me know the results
