ive had one machined out to 69mm but thats the max it could be taken to.. otherwise the butterfly intrudes into the isc air passage..

it made a slight difference after 4500rpm like has been mentioned..
but i had an issue with the tps being out of range as the butterfly shaft was now in a different position on closed throttle, compared to the std one..
but this can be overcome by elongating or making the screw holes in the tps larger to gain adjustment..

i never did a before and after dyno thou!

I replicated the exact same shape of the std butterfly(elipse) but scaled it up, so the size of the butterfly is 68.0 x almost 69mm, its been CNC machined so its within 0.05 of a mm, it sits pretty much in the same position... and gave me no throttle speed problems

On your first dyno run did it only get revved to 4900 or is that where it stopped making power?
Im just wondering if the motor was pulling the same max rpm on the dyno as the day it had the bored out t/b dyno run.

4900 is where the curve peaked not where the run finished, when power decreases by 10% after peaking the dyno automatically ends the run. which is what happened. (approx 5400 rpm)

on the second run, the car actually hit rev cut which ended the run (5750 rpm)

ok ive sourced the brass sheet for the butterfly material, and will be machined sometime soon, price will be $180 (exchange)

what you will get:
- a throttle body which has been bored out to 68mm
- a thinned shaft (top half removed)
- 2 new dome head screws to suit the new thickness
- a brand new butterfly with a sharpened leading edge.

ill have the first complete units ready for sale after christmas

ill start a new for sale thread when the 1st one is ready...

thanks

vince

thanks, i thought id improve on it instead of just boring it out only, the shaft mod and sharpened edge will only help... plus it makes them more Superior to the TB's that get sold on EBAY for much more $$$ !!!! i will also polish some of the casting marks from the inside of the opening

bruce heinrich worked on my brothers ef and told me bro that a larger throttle bod was a waste of time. and coming from bruce... well u know. (those who dont know bruce he has been racing saloon cars for years and has been nearly unstoppable.
