bought car 4 months ago, had gear selector switch naffed got that fixed and then took it in for major service and now it's going down hill quickly. It has a pretty bad oil leak but since the service it has got much worse, the ford bloke said it was leaking from: tensioner O-ring, Timing Cover, the Head and the Sump and he said it was going to cost $3000 to fix.
But now it is misfiring so bad i thought there was water in the intake and sometimes it's good but other times it's really bad, i have been told that maybe just a reco Head might fix it all but i would like some opinions on what i should do?

Please cheers

IS it fully insured? I dont condone this, but sometimes u have to look at all your options.

It might be cheaper to go to a large wreckers where you live and see how much a complete engine swap would cost. Probably pick up a complete EF engine with a compression test done on it for arond $500-$700. Most wreckers in Brissy charge about $300 to swap out engines.

Might be cheaper in the long run than stuffing around getting heaps of little things fixed.

sometimes just tightening the bolts sligltly will fix an oil leak.
The misfire could be plugs/leads.
