Hey All

I've been given a full reco head for my 91 EB1 3.9L. Never opened or used.

It's professionally reco'd, its been levelled/shaved but don't know how much, new valves, full train, heatshrink wrapped and boxed. Ready to drop on. Also a BBM manifold to suit, looks like its might have been matched to the inlet ports (light machine marks visible) no throttle body but has injector rail, no harness. I've not long bought a set of Bosch AU injectors, so that should be good fit too.

Its stamped 96 DA 6090 - AA. I'm figuring its late EL.

Christmas came early. Be nice to people, esp if you have a ute, chainsaw and a bottle of Jack D. You never know what they've got poking around their sheds that is surplus to requirements.

Can anyone throw any light on the casting?
Suggestions or advice on how to best use this thing?
Or is it really that useful?

It is a head of a late EL Falcon, the head you have is called a hybrid head. It has same rocker ratio as the AU falcon and uses the same spec camshaft.

Cool, so that'd probably be a Crow 2232526 / 2232549 / cam. But I don't want to pop the vacuum wrap to make out which it is just for the heck of it. Has anyone any tips to ID a cam from a distance -lol.

Rocker ratio?
I suppose it'd need an EL computer to get the best out of it?
I suppose I should read up properly on vernier gears now...
Question again though: is this kind of head really that useful?
But then again how long is a piece of string? (trick question that:) )

Same distance from the centre to each end.
