Tryed following the wires with a test light but could not find power!! coulp some one please help the car just keeps getting really hot and and wants to over heat so that makes theauto transmission clunk into gear....

I also have problems with my stereo drainig too much power and making all my lights dim really bad. I only have 2 1200w 12" subs running of a 1200w amp. why so much power loss and what can i do????

Just swap em out with another set of known good relays from your old mans car to test. If it works with his and not yours they are stuffed, if his works with yours though, it is something else.

Differences in wiring wont matter in regards to the Relays, they are either 4 pin or 5 pin, as long as they are the same then it shouldnt matter (5pin generally for driving lights) The holder is under the air box on an EL, there are 2 white relays and 1 green one. Before you pull the relays out, remove and then re install them in the plug to clear any possibly corrosion and gunk, then turn the key on with the AC on and see if either the relays click (put your finger on the relay as more than just one thing clicks when you hit the key in those cars) or if the fans spool up. Also, check the fuse in the holder next to the battery, its a big fat 30 amp one iirc.

As for the stereo, go and get a capacitor. 1 Farad should do.
