Just had my EL wagon regassed and the air con is cooling very nicely but after period of use it leaks huge amounts of cold water from the box under the dash especially when cornering :x ...any ideas ?

I'd say the condenser has condensation on it which usual drains out through the firewall... The drain is blocked...

Mine had the drain blocked and when you cornered it would run out onto the passengers foot...

You jack the car up... climb under and sticking out the firwall on the passenger side is a black spout... pick a drill bit that fits up it and turn it by hand to clean and trapped garbage out (be aware you may get a face full of water if there is some in there)

Yep it was blocked, clean out with bit of wire and the flood began....suprised how much water was backed up ! thanks again.

Same thing just started happening to mine two weeks ago. Here in Auckland we've had warm (for us, anyway - 26deg) and extremely humid (like 99% humidity) conditions. Driving around the city I got this sudden massive dump of ice-cold water on to my bare left foot - biggest fright I've had in years! Nearly crashed.
Thanks for the tip on how to fix - got under the car last night and unleashed a torrent. Really surprising the amount of water trapped in there.

Had no trouble since and i hear ya on that ice cold water hitting the foot...certainly woke me up !
