I know it's been done before, but I just had the idea of using an E Gas AU engine in an EF/EL Due to it's higher compression, and running it on petrol. In theory I reckon it should go like an absolute cut snake because the compression ratio is higher. What do people reckon? Exactly what is the compression ratio of the AU Egas motor? How many kW and what torque does it put out in stock form? Also what about the idea of putting an Egas BA motor or BF motor into an E Series? I know that people have successfully put Barra motors into E Series (My mate even did it) But I'm wondering how an Egas motor hooked up to petrol would go.

Cheers, Gab

No difference in compression for the Egas AU v petrol AU.

Listed comp ratio is 9.65:1 for all AU 4.0l engines. No difference for standard v XR v Egas.

The different comp ratios came in with the Barra.

Ahh ok, so is an egas AU motor essentially the same motor as the Petrol one, just with the Gas?

Thats right. Only good thing is that there will be less carbon through the system. They even came with injectors fitted to fill the injector ports :D , which will be blocked with s**t.

Thanks.

All the info I have on AU Engines state that all the 4.0's were the same comp ratio.
