Hey guys,
Ok so I have done a search on Fordmods but not been able to find exactly what I am after so here goes,

In my EF XR6, I have just recently converted to 5sp Manual (what a job!!) XR6 manual ECU, Wade 1673 Cam, Coby extractors+zorst done and hi flow simota panel filter. (am in process of upgrading intake pipe)

Now after installing the cam the revs hang a wee bit as I have read in other forums Im not the only one and have a few ideas up my sleeve to try and remody this, BUT I am looking at getting a J3 chip as its not that expensive, So my questions are:

Is it worth getting the J3 Chip and if so should I get a custom tuned one?
Will the chip eliminate the rev hang or should i try my ideas that Ive read up on (gasket with smaller holes etc)
And finally once I get the chip how do i install it? Does it just plug in somewhere??

Cheers for your time guys appreciate it.

Try the gasket! I installed an AU motor in my ED and the bastad would hang at 3000RPM when you rolled to a stop, I made a new gasket and replaced the ICS and problem gone! well sort of, it idles at 1000RMP and sometimes hangs at 1500RPM but its MUCH better than before!

Having said that, a J3 Chip will help you get the most out of the cam. :)

Manual falcons are prone to rev hang, so either run the ISC unplugged (turn up base idle) or try the gasket trick.
I would get a J3 with a custom tune anyway.
