i drive a 92 EB 2 and theres a bit of heat getting caught in the engine bay, the reading from the dash shows the engine temp is normal but when you lift the bonnet a burst of hot air hits you, any suggestions on a way to extract the heat

1. Keep the bonnet closed
2. Id rather the heat be in the engine bay, and not in the engine 3. XR6 bonnet vents 4. Air ducting, from the front bumper, facing the extractors, and the inlet side of things 5. Why so worried? just remember there are explosions happening in your engine, then there is friction with the extractors, the oil gets hot, the radiator, the coolant, all expelling heat. Really, its just a natural process, hence why the place has insulation on the firewall, and on top of the bonnet. So the passenger doesn't suffer. And everything under the bonnet is made to live with it/withstand it. Cheers

Nah that aint much of a smart a** sayign something like
Just take the f**k bonnet off the car is been a smart a** Try heatshielding stuff like extractors and that mate maybe that can help with you heat problem |

hotter then normal it's not melting anything, i guess it doesn't help having a black car in australia but you can really feel the heat coming from the engine bay

no steam or anyting like that, it's got brand new hoses, i've compared it to some of my mates fords and you can feel the extra heat

I wouldnt worry unless your overheating or the auge is reading too hot..
If things are melting or whatever then yer look into it. Otherwise just be happy its not catching on fire; im joking haha. Scoop if you want, but i wouldnt bother unls it becomes a problem.

Its the coolant temp that counts...
Maybe EF/EL/AU thermos would move a bit more hot air outta the bay than the clutch fan? Dont know where the air would go tho, lol... i dunno, mine seems to move a fair bit of hot air out... mmmm engine smell..

cheers You can get extractor wrap which drops underbonnet temp by a huge amount
