I've been told the EF compressor is different to the AU, at least, that the pipes are different, but i don't know from personal experience. I don't have anything to say about the brackets. I need to know more about all this myself.

I looked at EF, EL, and AU a/c compressors today.
The EF and EL ones had the same part number and looked the same, and looked to be mounted the same. The tubes exited from the side. The AU's looked different, and were mounted different. Also, the tubes exited from the back, and there was a small 'dryer'(?) back there too. So there wasn't a larger 'dryer' near the condensor like those fitted to the EB/EF/EL. Where the tubes met the firewall, on the EB/EF/EL there is a kind of junction block with connections, whereas with the AU the situation was a bit different. Since the AU compressor bracket fouls the dizzy, the dryer might be in the way of other things, etc, i decided not to go the way of an AU compressor. It looks like i'm going to get an EF/EL compressor and bracketry, the bracketry is very simple and neat.
