i just changed the rocker gear in the car and i noticed on number 1 exhaust valve stem was sitting flat with the retainer all the others are allright just wondering is this going to be a problem like the valve dropping ,and i have a small stutter from the engine when i just as i start to accelerate like its going to stall its not all the time.

I'd check it out or replace valve..The last thing you want to happen is rocker to hit retainer, keepers drop out then you'll drop a valve for sure!!!

I'm not a full bottle on this but I know the collets and valve have several grooves could it be that the collets are not sitting fully down or have moved up a groove , dont know how this would happen just a thought.

Its not so much the price of the valves, its all the work involved. Of course the head needs to be removed. Valves have to be synco-seated to the valve seats, best to change them, and the valve guides as well. All up it starts getting costly.

its the valve stem all the other stick out from the retainers about 2-3mm but exaust cylinder one the stem sits even with the retainer it dosnt stick out the 2-3mm like the others it looks like its been flattend and cant get pics its all back together .would it be cheaper to get another head rather than change valves ,the tappet on that valve was badly worn as well

Sounds to me like someone didn't put the collets in properly and like someone else said they are up a notch.

very strange i still think it be worth it ot have it check out the last thing you wont is a valve to drop down and hit a piston a new motor will be required then

it had a recoed head put on just before i bought it about 2 years ago so now just working out if its cheaper to replace the whole head or fix the valves, i would have to replace all the valves because i wouldnt trust the rest .but it does go bloody hard ,some freinds of mine have eb2 and ed and they reckon mine pulls heaps harder thans theres which makes me happy.
