Quick AU to EB question I have seen the pics of people who just shaved the AU sump to fit it in the EB, just wanting to know how deep to go is it just removing the lumps or more ?

Me again, Have finally got this au engine sitting in my car with bbm and all associated wiring and just have another few questions if someone can help. I am using the au alt, ps pump and water pump, au tensioner and am going to use a ef aircon pump but I need to know how to mount it, I looked and if I mounted it to the block with spacers it would be in the way of the dizzy so should I mount it on the eb mount to get it lower and just use half spacers to get it out further so the belt clears the tensioner and will this let me use the au belt ?. Also I got a bbm without fuel rail and I noticed the au fuel rail and injectors and reg I have all fit nicley on to the el bbm would there be any problems in using this ?.
Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance. |

to use the ef aircon pump you use the ef bolts, spacers and you will need to cut about 4mm off the bottom spacers..
the dizzy will need to be removed and rotated so the tfi module is pointing towards the rear of the car.. and the au fuel rail, injectors will work fine on the el bbm... thats what im using on mine... |

Actually one more thing troyman are you using the au belt ? And also I already put the dizzy in but want to confirm you just line up the au timming mark on the compression stroke then drop the dizzy in and make sure it lines up with the finish mark right ?
Thanks again mate |

question, planning on au 6 into an ea.. were the transmissions retro fit as well, eg mine has a 3speed auto, will the bolts still line up on the rear of the au/ef engine ?

ok i have a question guys, will i be able to swap a AU engine and transmission to a BA/BF/FG engine without to much problems , i know i will need the engine loom and engine computer and transmission to suit the engine...
Are there any clearances i should be worried about using the 6 ZF speed auto?? in a AU chassi will i have a problem connecting the tailshaft to the transmission??? will i also need a NEW dashboard???? since the loom and computer will be different??

Might be the right place to ask... shall give it a try..
Looking at putting a BA XR6T into a XHII Pany (as a more robust and reliable option to bolt on turbo and finding out bits and pieces failing over time)...one renowned ford NSW wrecker reckons they can do the engine & mechanical install (except electric connections) for $5k... others will supply all required items for $4500...no fitment... I am keen to know others who have put a BA/BF XR6T into a XG or XH series ute or E series sedan/wagon... Curious of structural hurdles, I have learnt that I will require the following: BA body control module, key reader, barrel and dash loom to bypass the passive anti theft security system. Alternatively you can flash tune around it. Engine, Turbo, All manifolds, Powers steering cooling line, Intercooler, piping and ducting, ecu & all necessary wiring looms to fit to BA Falcon Going to balance this option up against the perhaps more safer and reliable option of a Jim Mock Motorsport DEV5-SS engine (producing 175rwkw reliably with great torque) for a similar cost and no mech/elec mods.. and visually a sleeper... Welcome ideas, experience and thoughts (hoping more for educated/experienced viewpoints). Cheers.. |

@Sik M8, Having just converted my EB to the BBM manifold, Id say stick with that manifold, there is only one plug from the EB loom that was diffferent and that was the Idle Speed Controller plug which is right up on top. Ive had to extend the wire for the plug under the throttle body ( I have no idea what this sensor is but Im guessing the Atmospheric pressure sensor or air charge temp sensor) and that was no big deal. Taking the BBM off your EL motor would be like driving with a spark plug off in terms of performance loss. Id go and get an EL ECU, do the smartlock bypass on it and get ready for a kick in the pants as Ive previously owned an EA S pack manual and it went like a cat on carpet with its a*** on fire.
