There's a myriad of head gasket threads, so some reading is advised.
Replace the 5 welch plugs along the block on the exhaust side as well.

Anyway, this is possible without removing the whole engine, right? Just a little bit more difficult? I done mine without takin engine out, found it quite easy. Just check the timing chain guide when you take rocker off. Very very common as they are just s**t plastic litle f**k. The main b**ch of doin this job is the bolts for the intake man...the ones under the piping....hope you dont have fat hands...

Till Lind did you use a different brand of coolant when you replaced it recently. Or a much stronger concentrate or anything like that?

I've gotta be honest boot man, it sounds like you have absolutely no idea on what you're doing, at the least you should have someone come around and point you in the right direction as you go.... Sorry but you don't come across as mechanically minded.
Is it just me, or are the head gasket threads more common than the "Tickford Snorkel" threads? LOL |

Well I knew I'd have offers of help, and I would like to give it a crack without paying some mechanic to do it.
Good pick up Walker, I'm not, but I need to start somewhere. 8 ) No Kit, same ol' coolant mate. Was waiting for you to pop up Leroy, lol. I'll give you a buzz closer to the date and you can tell me how you feel about helping then. O and tools, got some okay spanners I guess, not a full set anymore though lol. I know I'm going to need a 14mm impact socket and torque wrench.

are you going to send your head off to be checked / repaired if needed or just get another head ready to do a straight swap?
it all depends on how much time you have to have your car off the road i guess.

Well I don't want to get a new head, I want to keep costs down.
But when I do get the head out, I'll take many a picture, and maybe some of you guys will have an opinion on it (though I'm guessing atleast having it checked is the bare minimum).
